Dr. Emmanuel Kanu

Dr. Emmanuel Kanu

Dr. Emmanuel Kanu brings a diverse international background in family medicine—having practiced across three continents and five countries. His medical training began in Nigeria, followed by further training in the UK from 2009 to 2018. In 2018 he relocated to Hamilton to establish his practice, taking over Hunter Street Medical & Walk-in Clinic in April 2019 and leading it into its current form.
Dr. Kanu has strong expertise in chronic disease management, sexual and reproductive health, pediatrics, and immigrant health care. He has volunteered extensively and received recognition for his work with underserved communities.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kanu is married with five children—and his mission remains clear: to provide cutting-edge, non-discriminatory healthcare for all his patients.

Dr. Callistus Chukwu

Dr Callistus Chukwu is a UK trained family physician with experience spanning across primary care, urgent care and preventive medicine. He joins the Hunter Medical clinic with an over 2 decades of experience in patient care in different clinical settings ranging from acute presentations to chronic disease management, men’s health, women, children and adolescent health as well as preventive medicine.

Dr Chukwu obtained his medical degree from his home country, Nigeria. Driven by his passion for children, he completed a residency programme in Paediatrics and Child Health becoming a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians ( FWACP). He had some exciting years with children before deciding to explore the allure of Family Practice. He is a member of the Royal College of General Physicians (MRCGP) having completed his training in General Practice (Family Medicine) in the UK.

Dr Chukwu focuses on empowering patients through simple and clear communication, shared decision-making and in a culturally sensitive approach. His practice is evident driven and he continues to maintain an up-to-date knowledge to serve his clients safely.

Dr Chukwu is married with 4 beautiful children. If he is not at the clinic, you can trust that he is spending some quality time with his family.
